About the Ross Collection

The primary aim of the Ross Collection is the preservation of the original documents and materials relating to the history of "Krotona" and the Adyar Theosophical Society. The Collection provides reference services for scholars and those interested in a more extensive study of the relationship J. Krishnamurti had with the founding of Krotona and his connection with the Esoteric School of the Adyar Theosophical Society.

The Collection contains a unique recored of the life of A.P. Warrington, the founder of Krotona in Hollywood 1911, and Ojai, California 1924. The Collection comprises the following: dozens of film reels around the time period of 1920, a large collection of manuscripts, letters and writings of A.P. Warrington, Dr. Annie Besant, C.W. Leadbeater and other theosophist; books and publications regarding the Esoteric School; World-Mother Movement; History of the Egyptian Rite of the Ancient Mysteries; Co-Masonry; and the Liberal Catholic Church; photographs; slides; audiotapes; sheet music written by early theosophist; and ephemera and memorabilia.
